At Dr Tan Medical Center, we offer male-specific longevity screenings which are a comprehensive set of blood tests that go well beyond a regular health check. This gives us a much better understanding of your biology and allows us to plan targeted interventions to improve your healthspan.

Areas tested include:

Metabolism

A look at the body’s energy systems including lipid, lipoprotein and blood sugar panels. We will also measure creatinine kinase in order to assess muscular function.

Male Specific Hormones

Accurate measures of Total, Free and Bio-available Testosterone and its antagonist Estradiol. Other hormones tested include Cortisol, Insulin, IGF-1, DHT, DHEA and others.

Nutrition Status

Enough calories do not always mean enough nutrition. We test for the body’s micronutrient status including Iron, Zinc, Homocysteine, Selenium, Vitamin D2, D3, Vitamin B12 and others.

Major Organ Function and Electrolytes

Looking at the function of the liver and kidneys and the balance of electrolytes in the body.

Inflammation and Immunity

An immune system that is too weak or too triggered can both be detrimental. We look at various indicators of inflammation and immunity including CRP, CD4 cell counts, C3, C4 and others.

DNA Methylation

Methyl groups containing carbon and hydrogen molecules attach to the DNA affecting gene expression and function. Excessive methylation can increase risk of various diseases. A DNA methylation test allows us to recommend specific interventions to reduce disease risks.

Calculation of Biological Age

Using the data obtained and verified clinical calculators, we can determine your biological age and compare it with your chronological age.

Optional tests include:

Toxicology Screening

We may be unknowingly ingesting small amounts of heavy metals in our diets or even our supplements. These heavy metals build up in our systems and over time leads to negative effects on the body. We screen for aluminium, mercury, lead, copper, thallium and other heavy metal toxins.

DNA Cancer Screening

We test for 50 cancers with a single blood draw using circulating tumour DNA technique.

Body Composition Testing

Using a Dexa scan for fully accurate measurement of body composition

Full Body PET Scan

A detailed head-to-toe scan that is able to detect lesions less than 1cm in size.
