Performed in a comfortable, private testing center, semen analysis is the first step in ensuring that fertility is possible. Semen analysis is also conducted after a vasectomy to ensure that it is a success.
Before an analysis can be performed, you should refrain from ejaculating for at least 3, but not more than 10 days, before the test.
Semen is analyzed for several key parameters such as:
- Concentration
- Motility
- Vitality
- Morphology
- Acidity
- Presence of abnormal cells
Sample collection can also be performed at home, but the sample has to be delivered to the test center within an hour for accurate results.
