Getting HIV from Oral Sex — Is It Possible?

A common answer regarding the possibility of getting HIV from oral sex seems to be that it has a very low risk, but the chances of it happening cannot be completely ruled out.

According to the studies and case reports reviewed in this article, there has not been a confirmed case of HIV transmission through oral sex. However, this does not prove that it is impossible.

If you have just had an oral sex encounter, you need not worry about getting HIV as your chances are statistically close to zero. However, if you wish to be absolutely certain, the only way is to undergo an HIV test.
